• 14% of the children will die before they reach the age of five in undevelopped countries. Many of the mothers will not survive the birth delivery.
• Each year 350-500 million cases of malaria occur worldwide, and over one million people die, most of them young children in sub-Saharan Africa.
• Africa has 11.6 million AIDS orphans. In 2007, 1.5 Million Africans were killed by the AIDS virus.

At the OPIS foundation our goal is to create jobs in the poorest countries of the world.   With your donations we facilitate business creation or development and focus on businesses in areas that are the most likely to create a high number of jobs.

When we give food and medical support, these gifts have a limited value in the eye of the receiving party as he or she knows, they will have to return the next day for additional help.  On the other hand, they will cherish a regular source of income which will come with a stable job.

Over US$100 Billion have been injected into Africa over the last 10 years for humanitarian projects.  A large portion of these donations was used to provide immediate food and medical support for people in need. Millions of lives were saved by these efforts.  Still, one can only wonder if we could have done more with such a large sum of money. The founding members of the foundation have business background and know that such large amounts of money can be used to implement an infrastructure and develop industries that will create millions of jobs.  With all the resources we can garner, it is our goal to implement these infrastructures in the poorest region of the world.

 As we put in place the infrastructure (Water, Electricity, Roads, Communications) and the industries (Tourism, Agro-Industrial farms...) needed to create jobs, additional services become available such as clean and available medical facilities, as well as a decent protection system against malaria, AIDS and other diseases.  These services will ensure that the dramatic statistics recorded in undevelopped countries will become part of our history while the population will now enjoy an enviable life.
