There are currently ten regional airports in Sierra Leone. The facilities at these airports cannot be relied upon but could be used as part of the "ecotourism" initiative we are launching in Sierra Leone.
We propose to renovate the airports of the four major cities Bo, Kenema, Koidu and Makeni and transform them into modern airports capable of handling both passengers and cargo.
We may upgrade a fifth airport should the final study on air transportation needs reveals that a fifth airport in Kabala is needed. The regional airports will have an African look to honor the African heritage and traditions.
