Tourism Infrastructure

Mr Hindolo Trye, Minister of Tourism
During one of our recent
visit to Sierra Leone

As we travelled to Sierra Leone, it became very quickly clear that one of the issues that prevents business expansion and job creation in Sierra Leone is the lack of acceptable hotels. Every hotel we have visited is sub standard and lacks most of the amenities that are needed to carry on modern business. From decent rooms to reliable internet connection or meeting facilities, nothing is available while at the same time, investors are increasingly travelling to Freetown to open new businesses and take advantage of the unique opportunities offered by the new government.  We have decided to develop the hotels and business facilities that are currently inadequate or non-existent.

While travelling the country, we have also learned that Sierra Leone used to be a tourist destination. We found well protected white sand beaches that tourists are always looking for, as well as wild nature reserves which provide opportunities for short and safe expeditions.

We propose to develop four projects. Two of the projects we are proposing have already been accepted by the Sierra Leone government and we are ready to pursue the development as soon as the funding is in place.  We are in advanced negotiations on the other two projects and expect to see them assigned to us shortly.
